Brief Periods of Heavy Rain

What was Peter Cottontail's real name?
Beginning at about 10:45 last night two deep rumbles of thunder signaled an approaching storm.  It started soon thereafter, heavy downpours, each lasting ten to fifteen minutes.  Four of those gully-washers back to back convinced me the arroyo beside our house was probably running pretty good.  When Becca and I went out there this morning it was still muddy from the rain.  The desert around Tortugas Mountain was wet, too, and the atmosphere was sopping with humidity.  It was definitely more muggy than it's been during this entire monsoon season.  When Becca and I went for a drive this afternoon the clouds building above the Organ Mountains convinced me that we're probably going to get more rain later today.
