Colder Than Expected

Soaptree Yucca almost completely toppled
28F at the start of our trek this morning, but it felt a lot colder due to a persistent wind.  While Dr. K and I were dressed properly we were somewhat surprised by the cold conditions because the Weather.com app forecast called for almost nonexistent winds.

Nevertheless, we hiked up to Second Arroyo and back encountering no other intrepid outdoor enthusiasts along the way.

The one good thing about getting home afterwards was that we didn't have to drive to the Sacramento Mountains in order to turn on the pumphouse heaters at our high country home.

Despite the cold the four of us had an invigorating hike (especially Frio and Willow).
