Quick Trip to the High Country

Heelers in First Arroyo
When we learned how cold it was going to be in the high country for the next few days Dr. K and I decided that we had to head up to our place in the Sacramento Mountains to turn on the heaters in the pumphouse.  So, after a hike up to First Arroyo and back in the low country we headed up to High Rolls.

It was a good short trip--about 4 hours in total--and we all enjoyed the change of pace.  Willow and Frio especially liked being up there, where the cold air further invigorates them--as if they needed further invigoration.

I like that first photo of the La Cueva rocks. It was a pleasant trip to the high country.
