Inaccurate App Info

Southwest of Tortugas Mountain
Always somewhat maddening when your weather app informs you that it's 28F, sunny with a 2 mph wind, and when you get started on your morning hike the wind is actually 10-to-15 mph and it feels cold as hell in the desert.

That's what Dr. K, Willow, Frio and I encountered when we did our morning trek out near Tortugas Mountain.  We actually had to bushwhack into the desert east of LDR to seek shelter from the wind.  We were lucky when we got up to First Arroyo and found a windless, sunny area inside where we could stop for a water break.

We didn't stay out there long, though, and headed back after the briefest of rest stops.
