24F for Starts, 29F at Finish

First 2:  ice crystals on the CR-V windshield this morning
Up to First Arroyo and back on a very cold morning today; despite the lack of wind and abundant sunshine, conditions still were frigid.  No complaints from Frio and Willow, though, and even when we stopped for a water break in the arroyo there was no shivering.

We saw no one else while we were trekking in our section of the northern Chihuahuan Desert; most people who are able to get out there are probably wise enough to wait until things warm up.  Not us, though; we're eager to get in our early morning hike while the getting is good.
