Colder But Warmer

White-winged Dove and moon
It was significantly colder at the start of our hike this morning (22F), but unlike yesterday the sun today shone brightly and there was no wind.  So, despite the cold, we felt a lot warmer than we did on our New Year's Day hike.

We trekked up to Second Arroyo, stopped for water, and then went far further eastward toward the mountain before turning around to head back into the upper flatland and the waiting CR-V.

Often we take a short drive after our Saturday hike, but I wanted to get home to give myself a haircut--nice and short so it lasts a while.

Lots to figure out here

That's a really striking photo of the moon and the White-winged Dove.
