Bad Wind

Dr. K with the Heelers
When you check your weather app first thing in the morning and it reads "31F, feels like 25F" it's a given you'll be dealing with wind.  That's exactly what we had to deal with when we started our trek today:  cold temperature made almost brutal by a powerful wind.

It was like that all the way to First Arroyo where we hoped to get some respite from the cold wind, and, indeed, we found shelter there.  We lucked out, too, when--on the way back--the wind relented and almost disappeared by the time we reached our CR-V.

An interesting side note:  just as we were driving away from our home early this morning five Coyotes trooped over to the water hole on our property to get a drink.  Both Willow and Frio saw them, but remained well behaved despite the trespassing canids.

What manner of beast is this?

Cute photos of our Heelers. The wind didn't seem to bother them at all.
