Best Laid Plans

Desert Marigold
My plan was to take far fewer photos this morning, primarily because it was as hot as blazes out there; plans changed when we spotted a cooperative Swainson's Hawk.  I took far too many pics of it, and didn't really get any images of note.

We did our normal hike, taking a good number of shade breaks.  We're headed for a high of 102F today, and we could attest to the heating up of the desert floor.

The two images of the departing Swainson's include the small bird that chased it away.  Not sure what the aggressor was, but it easily convinced the hawk to take off.

Nice photos of the Swainson's Hawk, Packrat. I especially like the last image.
