Fun with Heelers

Looking northward from the left branch arroyo
Dr. K had an AAUW (American Association of University Women) meeting this morning so it was Willow, Frio and me on our own.

We did our regular hike, and while we were headed up the left branch arroyo, stopping to photograph a hawk on a yucca, we heard--and later saw--the Basset people with their hounds; or should I say, "the Bassets with their people"?  They (the hounds) were barking loudly, and the noise distracted Willow.

I couldn't get a good photo of the hawk because the sun was behind it, and when I saw it again in a different location it was too distant to get a decent image.  Hope I have a better chance in the next few days.
