Dead Battery Hike

Waning Gibbous
When Dr. K, Willow and I piled into Whitey the CR-V this morning to take the short drive for our daily hike we had quite a shock:  dead battery.  We overcame that problem by taking Red, Dr. K's CR-V to the trailhead.

We did our normal trek because I had to deal with the battery problem while Dr. K was going to do all the shopping, giving me a waiver from my weekly stint at Albertsons.

Dr. K and I talked it over and decided to use our AAA membership for the first time and have the battery replaced rather than me jumping Whitey and driving it somewhere for a new battery.  Turned out it was a really good choice; the driver came out in under an hour and replaced the old, dead battery with a new Interstate battery.  Not that expensive, either.
