A Very Long Bushwhack with Wils

Young Soaptree and elderly Soaptree Yuccas
Dr. K had an AAUW meeting this morning so it was Willow and me on an extra-long hike today.

We added distance to the regular trek by bushwhacking out of the left branch arroyo and over to the saddle south of 4210 hill where Mama Swainsy was sitting on her nest until right before we came abreast of the Torrey Yucca she was perched on.  She flew off, perhaps to get breakfast.  We saw Papa Swainsy a while later, and both hawks were wheeling in the air not far from each other.

Willow and I climbed  to the top of the high ridge and headed south on it for a good while before turning around and heading back.  When we reached the left branch we followed our regular route for the rest of the hike.

I took far too many photos again today.  The best thing about our outing this morning was beating the wind which is beating everything in its path this afternoon.
