Cool, Cloudy Day

Dr. K, Research Associate Becca and I set off on a Tortugas Mountain hike this morning, intent on circumnavigating the monolith. Instead, we went 2/3 of the way in a clockwise direction, then reversed course. These are some sights we saw along the way. The beautifully cloudy Organ Mountains.
New leaves at the tip of an ocotillo; notice how the leaves almost completely obscure the needle-like thorns.
New growth on a Christmas cactus.
A small, yellow flower on a plant I am not yet able to identify.
Low-hanging clouds in front of the Organs.
