High Country Retreat (Part Deux)

After lunch we hiked the Rim Trail that parallels Highway 130 along the western escarpment of the Sacramentos. Before we'd even gone a quarter mile we came upon this skeleton, which appears to be that of a canid. It could be the remains of a dog or a coyote, but I am not sure which.
We welcome any comments from enlightened readers who can identify the animal, and we offer this closeup to help with identification.
On the return trip to Las Cruces we saw this cloudburst along Highway 70 on the east side of the Organ Mountains.
The awesome Organ Mountains from the inside of the CocMobile.

I'm having trouble getting a handle on the length of the skeleton. Those canine teeth appear enormous.
