Sacramento Mountains from the Grandview Trail
We went up to Cloudcroft to do a high-country hike this morning, but, with a temperature of 57 F. and an incredibly powerful wind, it was too cold to do a trek there.  So we drove down to the Grandview Trail near High Rolls, hiked the main trail, the Grandview Spur Trail and part of the new Salado Canyon Trail.  It was still windy, but a lot warmer at lower elevation.

Make sure you check out the videos in Part II of this post.

You KNOW your blood's gotten too "thin" when 57 degrees is cold! Sounds like heaven to me right about now! (I'm sorta' teasing, 'cause I know that temperature can be chilly with a strong wind.)

Scott: So far during our two weeks here we've been alternately hot ANd cold. It's what I love about the mountains, though. It's raining here right now, but we were able to get a long hike in this morning.
