Mountain Thunder

Starting out on the Rim Trail, Section 3

We did a moderately-long hike on the Rim Trail, Section 3 this morning.  We saw one other hiker (a lone woman) on our entire trek.  At the midpoint of our outing we stopped for some gorp and water; that's when we began to hear the mountain thunder.  The storm was coming up pretty fast, but we were able to make it all the way to the trailhead without getting spat upon.  On our drive back toward Cloudcroft it started raining lightly.  The thunderstorm hasn't reached High Rolls yet, but we had a doozy last night.  We slept with opened windows, but it was downright chilly!
