Icy Start

Iced-over windows
It was pretty chilly when we left home this morning, but things warmed up quickly due to the sun and lack of wind.  There weren't any hearty outdoorspersons around Tortugas when we were out there, but we saw Greg at a distance when we were about a 1 1/2 miles away from the car on our return trip.  He hollered out and waved to us on his way to the top of the mountain.  Guess he got a late start today.  There were only a few cars in the parking lot when we got back.

Typical winter day in the desert--about a 40 degree difference between 7:00 am and noon.

Who would'a thunk that southern New Mexicans would awake to frosty windows while we're "basking" in temperatures near 60 degrees here in the northern Piedmont. (I'll take the 60 degrees, personally.)
