Too Many People

Getting an early start
Becca and I were on the trail very early this morning, so we were surprised to see how many people were out and about already.  Unfortunately, we ran into quite a few--the most we've ever run into on a Sunday.  There were mountain bikers, hikers, lolligaggers.  (Just kidding about the latter.)  Fortunately, when we got into the outback there was nobody else around, so we enjoyed a good portion of our trek.

I can tell that the desert is slowly turning green from the rains.

I imagine that people were out early to beat the heat. Kali and I took a 4-mile walk around noon yesterday and came back drenched in sweat (it was extraordinarily humid here). The folks in the desert may know better than to follow Kali's and my lead...

It's always good to beat the heat, Scott, but--with the exception of a stiff breeze--I haven't found a good way to beat the humidity.
