Post Monster Hike

Hiking on the west side of Tortugas
After yesterday's killer hike Becca and I decided to do only a moderately-long trek this morning.  It was satisfying in several ways:  we got our exercise in, the weather was beautiful (we're to be 80 F today), and there weren't a slew of people out even though this is the first day of spring break for area schools.  We did see a young father hiking with his boy, and it made me feel good to know that some people still think it's important to get out in nature with family members.  Perhaps if we had more kids enjoying nature rather than playing video games we'd feel better about the future of our environment.  God, I sound like an old fogey.

The orange-red claret cup blooms are beautiful. I can't wait to take a hike and see them myself.
