Buddy Encounter

Cactus garden on the west slope of Tortugas Mountain
On our inbound leg this morning Becca and I ran into our buddy Jimmy who was waiting for us on the road to the mountaintop.  Since Becca hadn't seen her pal for quite a while she was very excited.  I had to put her on lead to try to prevent any excessive spinning because she's always beside herself with happiness whenever she greets her friend.  He was good enough to find a shady place for Becca to lie down while he and I palavered.  We talked for maybe twenty minutes before parting company.  Always good running into him out in the Chihuahuan Desert.

How deep is my gully?

Woolly Paperflowers

Spotted this rare bird at the top of a Soaptree Yucca stalk

Turned out to be the spent seed pods of said yucca
