Up on the Roof

Becca on her way to the upper foothills
Becca and I did a moderately long hike west of Tortugas Mountain this morning.  When we got home I went up on the roof to see why our evaporative cooler hasn't been working efficiently of late.  I found a small amount of water leaking from the cooler reservoir.  Upon inspection after opening the side panels I discovered the reservoir float was broken.  That necessitated a trip over to Home Deport to buy the needed part.  As is the case with almost every mechanical job the work took nearly twice as much time to accomplish as it should have.  Got everything reassembled and working properly, but the air from the cooler still doesn't seem to be as cold as it should be.  Has the humidity been really high of late?

I'm glad you were able to take a nice hike with Becca before tackling the cooler. For such a simple machine, it requires a lot of maintenance.
