Shortened for Shopping

Small Mesquite Tree west of Tortugas Mountain
Becca and I got on the trail early and did an abbreviated hike this morning.  If it's Tuesday it's my shopping day, and I had to get home, shower and head for Target and Albertsons to resupply the old hacienda.  It's rather hot and humid today following yesterday's light showers.  The smell of rain in the desert made us long for even more of the wet stuff.  Last night the west side of El Paso got hammered by heavy storms with quarter-sized hail.  It feels humid enough now to get our hopes up for a better shower or two here in the City of the Crosses.

Yesterday we did get a brief rain shower, so let's hope there are more showers in the future that will turn the desert green (or as green as it gets).
