To the High Country

Sunrise over the mountain
I arose at 4:50 this morning, and Becca and I got an extra-early start on our daily trek.  We were off the mountain and back to the car by 8:20.  We needed to get home to finish packing for a much-anticipated trip to the high country.  Now, in the early afternoon, we're sitting up in the Sacramento Mountains where the temperature will be at least fifteen degrees cooler than in the low desert, and it will be 65F tonight.  That's windows-open sleeping weather.
Cottony clouds to the west

Keeping an eye on her surroundings

That's the one

Right at the center of this photo . . .

. . . sits a White-winged Dove

Stepping aside for a pic

Dynamic clouds this morning

Always ahead of the pack

Heading back home to finish packing

A look up Haynes Canyon

About to disappear behind the pumphouse

High-country living

Sniffing plants

Looking for anything of interest
