Red Flag Warning

Weather at start
Becca and I got an early start this morning, and we pretty much did the same hike we did yesterday.  I was in a bit of a hurry, though, as it's my shopping day at Target and Albertsons, so I didn't linger long picking subjects to photograph, though you might not think it's the case after seeing all the images here.

There were other hikers and runners out and about, and one guy with his dog was just getting started when we were.  I noticed pulling into the entrance road that his white RAV4 had a Colorado license plate.

We saw other outdoor enthusiasts on the mountain road, but because we were bushwhacking to the west we had no encounters with anybody else.  After our trek it was back home, take a shower (me) and set off for an infuriating grocery shopping trip.  Why is it that some husband-and-wife tag-team shoppers have long-winded purchasing discussions right in front of items I want to buy?
♫ And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily . . . ♫

I especially like the second photo of the Loggerhead Shrike. Interesting weather we had yesterday.
