Heat and Humidity

This and the next:  same Gambel's Quail
Becca and I got a bit later start than usual this morning, and because of that we were able to hike a leg of our trek with our pal Jimmy who was heading for the mountaintop.  It was nice to chat with him along a section of the trail, and, of course, Becca was thrilled to see him.

We separated at the road leading to the top of the mountain; Becca and I crossed over to the trail on the west side and began bushwhacking after a short distance.  We meandered over to her favorite new spot, and she lay there for a long spell while I took some photographs.  I had to prompt her to get up and continue with our trek, and we hiked back in a bit later because I had to get home, shower and head out to Target and Albertsons for grocery shopping, etcetera.

The weather out there this morning was nice, though hot with higher humidity.  I guess there's a small chance of showers later this afternoon.
