Beautiful Barrel

Arroyo:  dog's eye view
Dr. K. Willow, Frio and I did a bit longer hike this morning, trekking down LDR-A and then partially up LDR before bushwhacking east into the desert.  We found a shady arroyo in which to take a break and hydrate before heading back.

Once atop the flats above LDR-A we took the short spur road over to where it intersects with Tellbrook before returning to the waiting CR-V.

Although there was a hint of a breeze at times, and a bit lower humidity, the morning felt extremely hot under a blazing, merciless sun.  We're slated to hit 101F today, and I've little doubt we'll reach it.  Needless to say, but the ride home in air conditioned bliss felt heavenly after trudging through the scorching northern Chihuahuan Desert.
