Breezeless and Sunny

Looking southwest
Compared to yesterday today's hike was incredibly pleasant--no wind, no clouds, and plenty of desert sunshine.

Just after crossing the Tellbrook Arroyo we looked back up LDR and saw a horse and rider descending.  They must have seen us, too, because they held back until we had advanced far enough for them to head westward in the arroyo.  They didn't go far, though, and turned back up the road not long afterward.

When they got back to the high flatland I took several photos of them before they disappeared; that's when I noticed the dog who was their companion.  It looked awfully like a Heeler doing its best impression of a Coyote.

Best part of today's trek:  we didn't feel completely battered by the wind by the time we finished up.

I like the photo "Jetting Over the Mountains." It was nice to see that horseback rider and her dog on the trail ahead of us.
