Day After Xmas Hike

Surprised to find an American Robin up early this morning
The four of us started much earlier on our post-Christmas hike today, and we suffered a bit for it; the temperature (28F) was four degrees colder than yesterday's start and the wind was stronger.  Nevertheless, we trekked up to Second Arroyo, took a water and photo break, and then headed back.

On the outbound leg we saw a man and woman running along LDR on their way to the upper flatland; they were the couple we see almost every Saturday out there.  We didn't get the chance to interact with them, though, because they were too far away.

All things considered, we had a nice outing in our section of the northern Chihuahuan Desert today, which we capped off with a short pleasure ride afterward.
