In doing so we did not see the woman heading north on LDR running with her two dogs--one medium size and one little. She had to stop to put the pipsqueak on a lead, and that gave Willow and Frio time to rev up for some serious whining and barking. No encounter, though.
When we got back on the dirt road we recognized the guy who had jogged past us--the male half of the man and woman couple we see frequently on Saturdays. We never got close to him as he ran up the steep incline to the upper flatland. About fifteen minutes later we crested the ridge and crossed over to our waiting CR-V.

I like that second photo of the hot air balloon. That's a good sign that spring is on its way.
