Willow, Frio and I hiked up to Second Arroyo this morning, stopped in for shade and water, and then headed back.  It felt awfully hot at times--especially when the sun emerged from behind the clouds--but constant overcast kept us from broiling.

We saw no other nature lovers in the desert today, and didn't even notice too many critters--just a few birds and rabbits.

It felt good to get back to the CR-V in the upper flatland and to crank up the air conditioning for the brief ride home.
