Absolute Scorcher

Soaptree Yucca west of the Organs
I say "scorcher" for these reasons:  blazing sun, high humidity, no breeze to speak of, and 80F at the start of our trek.

We took plenty of shade breaks from which the dogs benefited, but not much respite for human hikers; no big trees to provide shadows for Dr. K and me.

Did our normal hike, but all involved seemed glad to get it over with; the air conditioning inside the CR-V was welcome relief during the drive home this morning.

Beautiful photos of the Barrel Cactus flowers, Packrat. I love their orangish color. My favorite photo is the 5th image that you posted.
