Another Word for Steamy

Desert Willow flowers
After yesterday's rainfall the humidity level has been sky high; so it was during our morning trek, which produced quite a bit of perspiration.

We did our usual hike today, and the only disappointment--aside from Willow pulling me forward to get at dog scents as fast as she could--was the not-yet-blooming Nipple Beehive Cacti we discovered.

I felt pretty certain they'd be blooming later on so I drove back along the upper flatland road after lunch to confirm my suspicion; I was not disappointed.  The post-lunch photos of Coryphantha macromeris (Nipple Beehive Cactus) are posted below.

So many wonderful photos, Packrat. The Desert Willow blossoms are so pretty. And I love the colors of the flowers on the Nipple Beehive Cactus. I'm glad you took that extra trip to get those photos.
