Abbreviated Hot Hike

Nightbird
It was so hot out there this morning that Dr. K and I decided it was best for all involved--especially the Heelers--to abbreviate the hike; we did just that, descending LDR-A arroyo, turning toward the Organs on the east/west cross trail, ascending the left branch arroyo to the junction of the right branch, and then heading up and out of the right branch arroyo.

We made several shade/water breaks along the way, but ants were out in abundance today so we didn't linger long in any one place.  Nevertheless, poor Willow seems to have been bitten on the left front foot by an ant or other insect.  We gave her half a Benadryl when we got home, and she seems to have recovered nicely.
