Sun and Wind

This & next:  lone Soaptree
Although the humidity was a bit lower this morning it felt brutal when Willow, Frio and I started our daily trek; Dr. K was grocery shopping.  No cloud cover was available to block the merciless sun, and a hot wind made conditions even worse.

We saw no other nature enthusiasts during our outing, and even denizens of the desert seemed scarce; in fact, I saw only a few ants braving the elements.  We took shade breaks and drank water while hiking, but we were all fairly anxious for an end to the exercise session.
