Willow and her long shadow
|
Dr. K, Willow and I did our regular hike on a pleasant morning, adding some bushwacking in order for me to take a few photos of a Swainson's Hawk atop its favorite yucca; I'm not happy with the results.
When we turned around to retrace our steps we were suddenly enveloped by light smoke, the source of which we never discovered. It was a pretty bizarre experience. The pollution was strong enough to cause mild burn to our throats and eyes.
Fortunately there wasn't any smoke at our place when we got home; there wasn't any water inside, either. When I called water dispatch the guy said there'd been a main line break in our neighborhood. Four hours later and we barely have a trickle of the wet stuff from our taps.

Those are pretty decent photos of the Swainson's Hawk.
