Behind the Cabin Hike Redux

Early morning Sacramentos
We decided to forego a longer hike on the Grand View or Bridal Veil Falls trails in favor of a shorter (and steeper) trek in the forested mountain behind our cabin; we went a bit further than we have in the past, reaching a high point we'd not explored before.

Willow led the way there and back, behaving excellently except for a few instances where she was transfixed by critter scents.  Can't really hold that against her.

After lunch we all went out for a brief excursion on our property, waiting to see if Cahl and Cowboy might put in an appearance; they didn't.  We had to cut the outing short because the black sky threatened imminent rain and the rolling thunder scared Willow into a desire to return to the cabin immediately.

I really like those last 3 photos of the gathering clouds. What a dynamic sky.
