Opting for Our Forest

Sundial called Willow
We were thinking of doing one of our favorite high country hikes--the Rim Trail (T105) near Sunspot--but opted to do the forest behind our cabin instead.  We were imagining thick mud on our boots from recent heavy snow melting, and decided to forgo the aggravation.

We had a decent, somewhat strenuous trek that satisfied our need to get outdoors; Willow was especially happy to smell each and every elk print we encountered--and there were plenty of them.
