1st 3: yucca that looks like an ocotillo is growing in it
|
This morning while pulling into the area where we park the CR-V the Basset people with their four hounds and a companion hiker (their daughter, perhaps) were heading east along the upper flatland road. We had to wait for them to pass before getting out of our vehicle.
Because the Bassets and visitor were heading down LDR-A the way we usually go we decided to bushwhack toward the Organs in the high hills west of the dirt road. We went all the way to the left branch arroyo, then down to the east/west cross trail. After heading west for a bit we turned around and did our usual trek.
After the satisfying hike on a warmer morning we took a long drive while listening to Matt Jones and Myron Medcalf on their Sunday Morning show.

I like the first photo of the Yucca with (it appears) an Ocotillo growing up out of it.
