Merciful Cloud Cover

Blanket of clouds to the west
You just can't say enough about the wonders a significant cloud cover can do for a long hike through the desert.  Not only did the clouds provide shade, but a gentle wind added to the cooling effect.  Today's long hike in late July felt like an early-April saunter.  Becca and I stopped several times for water, but we weren't sucking in down like two dehydrated wanderers in the Sahara Desert.
