Before Heading Back

The canyon lands in the Tularosa Basin
Dr. K, Becca and I took one last hike on the Grand View Trail before heading back for the lower Chihuahuan Desert.  It was pretty hot in the high desert (about 6500 feet), so we knew it would be very hot at 4400 feet--the elevation at home.  And indeed it is.  We've had the evaporative cooler running for over three hours now and it's just beginning to drop temperatures inside.  Pining for the high country already.
A happy hiker
