Wildcats

Last night's sunset
Because it was grocery-shopping day for me this morning Becca and I took a normal hike west of Tortugas Mountain.  We ran into a couple of Wildcats on the final leg of our trek; no, not the Cougar nor the Bobcat, but rather JC and Olivia who were just starting out on their walk.  Both of them are University of Kentucky Wildcats fans, especially JC who hails from the Bluegrass State.  We all--except Becca--stood talking for ten or fifteen minutes before going our separate ways.  It was a beautiful morning for a perambulation.
Sunlight striking a Strawberry Hedgehog Cactus

Decisions, decisions

About to dip into the gully

Puffs of Plumed Crinklemat (Tiquilia greggii)

Plumed Crinklemat with cacti beyond

Pincushion Cacti (No exclamations of "Bollocks!" please)

In the upper foothills

Looking west toward the valley

Gee, wonder which college basketball team JC and Olivia root for?
