West Texas Town of El Paso

Trail from the Sunset Area parking lot
I took Becca on an abbreviated hike this morning so I could get home early, take a shower and leave for an eye appointment at 11:00 in El Paso.  Afterwards I drove to our old neighborhood on the west side to see if the pocket park built where our house used to stand was still in good shape.  It was, as was the neighborhood itself.  El Paso seems a lot bigger than when we lived there in the 1990s, growing into just another sprawling city in the American Southwest.  Driving down there and back is quite an ordeal, and I can't help but feel sorry for Dr. K who has go to UTEP at least twice a week to teach.  Until recently she sometimes had to travel to El Paso and back four times a week.

It's really good that El Paso built that pocket park where our house once stood--a good use of taxpayer money (for once).
