Down About Heading Down

One last look at Haynes Canyon before leaving the high country
Dr. K, Becca and I headed out really early for a morning trek on the Grand View Trail.  The weather was perfect:  brilliant sunshine and very little wind.  We ran into only a woman hiking with her dog during our entire 90-minute trek.  After a wonderful outing we headed back to our mountain home, packed, and left on the hour-and-a-half drive back to our house in the lower Chihuahuan Desert.  On the way we had to stop just short of San Augustin Pass so I could take a few photos of an outstanding poppy bloom on both sides of Highway 70.  There were other motorists who had stopped as well, and I had to compete for a spot to try to get decent images.  Then it was back on the road to get home.

That poppy display was really gorgeous. There were quite a few cars parked on the side of the road so that people could snap photos.
