Nothing Like a Grand View Redux

Sacramento Mountains near High Rolls/Mountain Park
Dr. K, Becca and I hit the Grand View Trail again early this morning, and we extended our hike by doing a little bushwhacking just after we left the lower parking lot trailhead.  Not long after turning around at the midway point we ran into two women with three dogs on leads.  One woman said, "They're friendly," but she and her companion were barely able to control their animals as they growled and snarled at Becca as if they wanted to kill her.  Of course Becca lay at the side of the trail in the "down" position just watching them.  She's such a good girl.  The weather was absolutely brilliant for our morning outing, somewhat windy at first, but dying into a mild breeze for the entirety of the trek.  With the steady sunshine Dr. K and I had to remove layers in order to prevent overheating.  All things considered we had a very nice hike on the Grand View Trail.

Those are great photos of the Spotted Towhee, Packrat. I especially like the one where it seems to be staring directly at you.
