Friday's Shorter Trek

Part of Las Cruces and Picacho Peak
I made a point of keeping this morning's hike short because of the extended trek we did yesterday; and although Becca seemed fine during and after our long outing I wanted to give her something of a break.  She made no complaints about spending only an hour in the desert.

After lunch I took her into the arroyo that runs alongside our house and let her explore in there a bit before coming back inside.  It's already windy as hell, and the gusts are supposed to worsen as the day goes on.  I don't mind the wind as long as it doesn't get bad enough to cause blowing dust and sand, a distinctly unpleasant phenomenon here in the northern Chihuahuan Desert.
