Monte Vista Hike on Saturday

Lyreleaf Jewelflowers
Becca and I took our normal Saturday morning hike on the east side of Tortugas Mountain, and there were no cars in the Monte Vista parking lot when we got there, nor any when we left.  Neither did we see any outdoor enthusiasts during our trek.  Nice having the whole place to ourselves.

It was a little chilly owing to the cold front that blew through on fierce winds yesterday, but the sun shone down brightly and there was only a light breeze.  I wore only a light jacket, but I could have benefited from a vest under layer; nevertheless, I never felt cold in the least bit.  Getting our exercise in on such a beautiful day was satisfying to both Becca and me.

I love the photo captioned "Yucca and the Organs"--an unusual perspective.
