But Whenever Monday Comes . . .

Prickly Pear
Just as I was getting Becca out of Whitey the CR-V on the west side of Tortugas Mountain early this morning our buddy, Raymond, drove past us on the entrance road to the Sunset Area.  We met up with him shortly afterwards and did the first leg of our hike together.  We went our separate ways at the old white shack because Becca and I were headed west to bushwhack across the desert to her favorite shady spot in the sand.

She lay there for quite a while as I photographed various subjects in the immediately vicinity, and then we headed over to Geothermal Road, went east toward the mountain and retraced our route back to the trailhead.  We started early enough to beat the heat, but it's sure to skyrocket into the high 90s later this afternoon.  Sure glad we could get in a trek before the desert gets too toasty.
