A Snowy Morn

Soaptree Yucca in snow
We awoke to a power outage and several inches of snow this morning.  The outage lasted about an hour while we were up, and it looked like we got about 2 inches of the white stuff.  Now (around 10:30) it's snowing lightly again.

No trek so far today because the roads are too treacherous, and Tellbrook is quite steep up to the trailhead we've been using on our daily hikes.  We'll have to see if we can get out later for a bit.

We did, however, take Willow and Frio up and down the arroyo that runs alongside our property to give them some exercise and let them do their business.  They seemed elated to romp in the snow, especially Willow who acted like a true snow dog.

These photos show how pretty the desert can look in snow. I especially like the photos of the mesquite tree.
