Before the Fall

Road in light and shadow
We did an early morning hike (earlier than yesterday) up to Second Arroyo this morning.  The temperature was pleasant (55F), but we're headed for a high of 87F today.  We can't wait until the first chilly days of fall are permanently here.

We saw only one other person out there during our trek, a guy who was headed in our direction on LDR while we were climbing LDR-A; he turned east into the major arroyo, though, and we never spotted him again.

Both dogs greatly enjoyed our hike, though Willow still plopped down in the shade every chance she got; she likes nothing better than lying in the sand and taking it easy.
