Willow, Frio and I had to finagle our way out of the house this morning due to the workers who are here installing a new section in our backyard fence; they came really early--just before 7:30.  We made it out okay.

I was surprised when we drove to the intersection of Noche Bella Loop and Tellbrook to find no construction workers there.  So we turned east and headed up to the trailhead to do our daily trek.

We hiked up to First Arroyo, stopped inside for a brief rest and a drink of water, and then headed back into the upper flatland.  Due to recent rains, the drying out of the sand, and little foot or vehicular traffic the hiking conditions were akin to trekking along a beach--very difficult.  We made it back to the CR-V without too much trouble, hopped in and made the short drive home.

When I got the Heelers out of the vehicle and started into the garage with them we briefly encountered one of the fence workers; Willow was well behaved, but Frio gave a few warning barks.
