Arroyo Segundo on Saturday

All yellow flowers are Creosote Bush in full bloom
No hike or blog post yesterday because I had to wait around for the fence workers to show up.  They were supposed to come between 9 and 10, but didn't arrive until after 11:30.  Typical.

Willow, Frio and I hit the trail early this morning for a trek up to Second Arroyo and back.  Ran into a father and two sons during our return on LDR.  Oldest son was riding a noisy dirt bike; youngest son was driving an ATV, his father on the back seat.  They stopped at the intersection with the Tellbrook Arroyo and were eating snacks when Frio, Willow and I approached.

The off-roaders were very friendly.  Father said, "Heelers?"  When I responded in the affirmative, he said, "They're pretty good dogs."  Frio took that opportunity to bark at the three riders.  The ascent up the dirt road was made difficult by the vehicle tracks that had been made just after the big storm on Sunday; they were deeply rutted and very sandy.
